This Week’s Market Forecast… 📊

The market is hoping for a more positive week after a recent stretch of negative weeks. Investors have been completely focused on Trump tariffs, and have tried to parse through all of the uncertainties regarding them. Trump has gone back and forth on certain tariffs and has made adjustments to tariffs in certain sectors.

This week hopefully will not be a complete focus on tariffs. It would be nice to focus on something else for atleast a week. However, Trumps tariffs on aluminum and steel are supposed to go into effect on Wednesday. I believe these tariffs will forsure happen, but I don’t believe the market will have too negative of a reaction. I think that the aluminum and steel tariffs are already priced into the market.

On Friday, the market reversed its negative trade thanks to commentary from Fed chair Powell early afternoon. Powell reassured the market that they are not too worried about a slowdown in growth or inflation ramping up. Powell stated that the Fed will likely stay put until the effects of tariffs are understood.

Earnings data this week is pretty light, but we will get a little glimpse into the consumer. The most notable companies that report this week are Ulta, Dicks, and Oracle.

Economic data will be in full focus this week. Investors will get the CPI report Wednesday morning and then the PPI report Thursday morning. These 2 indexes will give us a strong idea about inflation. On Friday we will get a Michigan consumer sentiment report, which will be interesting for investors after the recent negative reports.

The market has been very negative and volatile recently. The market is trying to price in tariffs and all of its uncertainty. I believe the recent drop is healthy for the market, and we may see more to come. However, I do believe that once we get out of this period of tariff uncertainty, the market will have a strong year. I am taking advantage of the negative days, and I think that they are great buying opportunities.

In times like this it is important to always stay positive, get invested, and be optimistic!!

Have a wonderful week!!
